Essence Cosmetics I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base Review
1:52:00 PMIt's been a while since I explored another eyeshadow primer. I have been using my ELF Mineral Eye Primer (which I recently used up) and ELF Studio Eye Primer and Liner Sealer. You can read the full reviews of both e.l.f. eye primers HERE. It took me about two years to empty out my elf eye primers since I don't apply eyeshadow everyday. I use the elf studio eye primer for my clients and the elf mineral eye primer is for my personal use only.
I received a surprise loot bag from Charles of Wickermoss all the way from SG last year (2012) and the Essence Cosmetics I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base was one of the products she gave me.
Essence Cosmetics is a makeup brand that originated in Europe. I can say that the price and quality is comparable to elf cosmetics. The brand Essence Cosmetics recently became available here on our Philippine shores, though it hasn't reached Cebu City yet.

What I like about it...
* inexpensive
* slightly thick in consistency and not runny at all
* glides on smoothly and very easy to blend
* a little goes a long way, I only need one dot to cover my entire eyelid
* no weird scent
* makes the eye shadows vibrant
* makes my eye shadows last longer, the color starts to fade after 6 hours on me
but it basically lasts all day since I don't have oily lids.
* it has a yellow undertone, which works well for my skin tone
* no allergies or irritation experienced
What I don't like...
* my eyeshadow started to crease after about 6 - 7 hours, but it's barely noticeable

The Essence Cosmetics I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base is awesome, especially considering the price. This can probably compete with high end eye primers and it is a great alternative to ladies on a budget. I would definitely recommend this to you ladies.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the review, Hollie! The only primers I've used so far are the Proof 10 from Etude House and the liquid eyelid primer (not the mineral one) from ELF. I love the Proof 10 one but decided to try the ELF one naman, it's the one I'm using now. I'd love to check this out! I hope ok din for oily lids :)
