Top Makeup Picks for 2013
11:39:00 AMI know this post is long overdue, but I really took my time in picking out my makeup favorites for 2013. Most of the products I featured here are my go-to makeup choices.
Favorite Eyeshadow
Okay, so most ladies really love neutral eye shadows, I am one of them. I
just find neutrals shades attractive and easy to wear, that's why my
top choices are a no-brainer for me.
In no particular order, here are my eyeshadow faves.
Wet n Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette in Vanity
Milani Single Eyeshadow in Antique Gold
Milani Single Eyeshadow in Java Bean
Favorite Face Products
I only use liquid foundation during special events or occasions, that's why I only chose one liquid foundation that I absolutely love. I prefer to use powder foundation on an everyday basis. I seldom use concealer so I did not include it here.
For full proof makeup, I use the Mary Kay Face Primer, Mary Kay Matte Wear Liquid Foundation and Mary Kay Loose Powder. I love to use this combo during special events and occasions.
On days that I feel like having a dewy face, I use the Mac Strobe Cream as my moisturizer then set it with the Milani Multitasker Face Powder, it's the only sheer powder I have, so these two works really well together. But if you have the Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural, it's a better option.
Favorite Lip Products
(left to right)
Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Smitten
Miners Matte Factor Lip Paint in Warm Red
Mac Lipglass in Lovechild
Mary Kay Cream Lipstick in Melon
I switch my lippies from time to time but these are my top choices for 2013. I also used the Mac Luster Lipstick in House Wine for the first two quarters of 2013, so I actually used up the whole tube. Yeah! I'm so happy to finally finish a whole tube of lipstick... hehe
Favorite Brow Products
The Face Shop Style My Eyebrow Pencil in No. 3
Nichido Mineral Spot Concealer in Neutral
I use the Nichido concealer on my brow bone are to clean up mistakes. I seldom use an eyebrow powder so I didn't include it here. I am always in a hurry when preparing for work, so eyebrow pencils are my best friends for everyday use.
My favorite contour powder is the Mac Blush in Harmony while my favorite highlight powder is The Balm Mary Lou Manizer.
(left) Sparkling Cider (right) Strawberry Cream
These two are my favorite powder blushes for 2013. Though I still love my Milani Luminoso, I find myself using the Sparkling Cider and Strawberry Cream most of the time.
So, this concludes my top makeup picks for 2013. I'd love to know yours.
Until next time.
Cheerios!

ReplyDelete@donnarence, it's my best makeup purchase last year! hehe tnx sis
DeleteMe too I love neutral eye shadows. :) Ma-try nga yang Revlon Kissable Balm Stain. I'm not into lipsticks kasi I have dry lips and when I apply lispstick it chapped and it looks ugly. But this year, I'll be looking for suitable lipstick for me. And this Revlon will be the first thing I'll try.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hollie!
@Marie, you should try the revlon kissable balm stains, it's perfect for those with dry lips. Also I suggest you try the Mentholatum Lip ice lip balms. it works ^_^
Deleteagreed for neutral! i love my sleek in storm! and lippie: MK Sherbet!
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing that but I fell in love with sleek oh so special, it's more wearable compared to the shades in the storm palette. ^_^
DeleteMust check out those products you have that I haven't tried yet! Murag daghan pa jud ko palitonon ani dah. I am so overdue at doing my 2013 picks, and January is almost overrrrr.. waaahhh! I need to do it over the weekend na gyud.
ReplyDelete@MyMaria hahaha looking forward for your 2013 faves. hehe
DeleteOMG! Yes! That strobe cream! I almost forgot that it exists but it's such an awesome "weapon". Especially for me since my skin is normally okay but just lacks that extra oomph.
ReplyDelete@Tellie, if you want a healthy dewy finish, you should get either the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and the Mac Strobe Cream...hehehe
DeleteLoooove the Mary Kay blush - the color on both is fab. Great taste!
ReplyDelete@Sasha thanks, both are very pretty, you have to check out their blush in SHY it's absolutely gorgeous ^_^
Deleteaah speaking of mary lou manizer, they released a cindy lou manizer! :) its very similar to mary lou but warmer yung shade nya. i really like the texture of these highlighters but i didnt buy mary lou bec the shade was yellowish on me so im super excited to see cindy lou in the counter :D
ReplyDelete@Shayne, at first I thought Mary Lou Manizer might look too light on my skin, but it isn't. it give me a rather nice luminous finish and isn't yellowish on me as well. hehe. I've seen the cindy lou manizer on photos but I think it has a pinkish undertone, so I'm not sure how that will work out. I hope it becomes available locally soon ^_^
DeleteMAC lovechild looks like a gorgeous lip color! and wow straberry cream from mary kay remind me a lot of NARS orgasm!
ReplyDeleteI have mary lou but I haven't tried it out because I have so many unused makeup pa hehe :D
@maxine, strawberry cream is more pink though. You should give your mary lou manizer a try. just use a light hand when applying it for a more natural finish.
DeleteLeave me a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. ^_^
