Makeup Favorites 2015
12:45:00 PMHappy New Year! It's that time of the year again, where you get to find out what my most used makeup products are. I know you probably have seen some of these items featured on my blog before, which goes to show how much I love them. I won't dilly dally and I'll just get on with it...
First up is the Lorac Unzipped Palette - I got this early last year and I've been using it ever since. I still love the Lorac Pro, but I prefer this more since I personally think the rosy hues look great on my skin tone. In addition to that, the formulation and texture of these shadows are amazing. It applies smoothly, it is richly pigmented, long lasting and soft as butter.
Then there's my trustee Mary Kay Compact with the Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Hazelnut, Sweet Cream and Espresso. Then the Mineral Cheek Color in Strawberry Cream and Sparkling Cider. I just find this compact very handy, and it's my go-to for quick makeup fixes especially when I am running late for work. (it happens a lot! so I end up doing my make up in the Company restroom on most days! LOL)
For my face base, I have been using these products the most. As you all know the Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation is my favorite compact powder and I carry it with me every single day. Next is the Mary Kay CC Cream, which I like using on early mornings especially on rainy days. It just makes my skin look alive and awake. There are also times that I prefer to use the Mac Strobe Cream as my moisturizer when my skin a bit dry. I just lightly set it with my Mac Studio Fix power. Sometimes, I mix it with my liquid foundation to get a dewy skin finish.
I discovered the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer and the Laura Mercier Smooth Flawless Fluide liquid foundation in the last quarter of 2015. Ever since I started using these two, it has been my go-to foundation and primer for special days. The primer has gel-like feel which easily gets absorbed on my skin and feels refreshing too. The foundation is very light weight, has excellent coverage and very long lasting. It has everything I have been looking for in a liquid foundation and it's perfect for my combination skin.
Here comes my most used blusher, it is The Balm Hot Mama! It's a peachy pink shade with golden sheen, it is simply just a gorgeous color. I don't contour everyday but when I do, my go-to contour powder is The Balm Bahama Mama. It is a matte warm brown shade that looks great on my skin tone. Then my current favorite highlight powder would be the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01. Don't get me wrong, I still love my The Balm Marylou Manizer but I prefer this for everyday use since it looks more natural on my skin.
For spot concealing, I still love my Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette. I get pimples every time I have my period and this concealer does the job for me.
For eye products, I still reach out for the Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base the most. It works well and I honestly just want to use up the tube. My favorite eyelid color would have to be the Mac Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo in This and That. I use it in almost all my makeup looks. Then my favorite Mascara for 2015 would have to be the Mac Extended Play Gigablack Lash. It has a very thin applicator and which makes it easier to get in to the roots of lashes especially on the lower lash line. Plus, it lengthens my lashes really well and does not clump. I forgot to included my Etude House Play 101 pencil eyeliner in the photo, its my current favorite matte black eyeliner.
For my brows, my go-to products are The Face Shop Design My Eyebrow auto brow pencil and the Mac Brow Set in Beguile which my holy grail brow gel. The face shop design my eyebrow is definitely my favorite brow pencil and I swear you'll love this too.
Lastly, my most used lipsticks for 2015 are the Mac Cosmo (Amplified), Mac Craving (Amplified) and the Mac Sin (Matte) lipstick. I haven't swatched these lippies here on the blog yet, but I posted them a few times on my Instagram.
Overall the year 2015 has been good to me and my family. I feel really blessed and thankful to our God the father for all the graces he showered us. A lot of new experiences happened to me in the past year and life was never boring. (Which explains my lack of blog posts. hehehe) I hope and pray the year 2016 is even better. Happy New Year everyone!!! and I sincerely miss all of you my readers and fellow bloggers.
Until next time.
Cheerios!

I love how you wrote this! It's fluid and easy to read.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm so happy you liked Laura. I would feel so bad if you didn't like it because I think I'm partly responsible for this purchase. Haha.
Ah I adore Laura Mercier's highlighter and primer! MY FAVVVVVV :) Love seeing them on your list too <3

For 2016, I think I'll be getting more products from TheBalm. I really liked their highlighter, so now I want to move on to their blushes and shadows. I almost got Hot Mama, before I decided to get Nars Deep Throat instead.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the Lorac shadows, so I was so in doubt if I wanted to purchase this palette or for Makeup Geek eye shadows. I ended up choosing the MUG shadows, but now I see this post and it really makes me want this palette as well! #FirstWorldProblems lol
ReplyDeleteLeave me a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. ^_^
