1. Acne remedy
Yogurt contains zinc, mineral well-known for its anti-inflammatory properties. The mineral acts as an astringent thus facilitating cell reproduction and tissue growth. Another benefit of zinc is regulation of sebum production what makes it ideal for individuals with oily skin. Yogurt mask can help you get rid of acne breakouts and pimples in a natural manner. Effectiveness of zinc on treating acne is well-documented. For example, study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology discovered that participants who received topical zinc reported reduction of severity of acne and pimples and experienced no side effects.
2. No dehydration
You already know yogurt is abundant in calcium. But, did you know your epidermis contains calcium as well? Therefore, supplying your skin with calcium aids in skin renewal process and prevents your skin from getting dry or dehydrated. This is particularly useful for individuals with dry skin that is characterized by flaky and rough texture.
3. Moisturizer
One of the main nutrients in yogurt is lactic acid which is also ingredient found in numerous beauty and skincare products. Lactic acid is a powerful exfoliant and skin moisturizer meaning yogurt mask will eliminate all impurities and dead skin cells from your skin while nourishing your face at the same time. Gently massage yogurt face mask onto your face in circular motions to improve blood flow as well.
4. Brighter skin
Lactic acid in yogurt inhibits the production of an enzyme tyrosinase which is responsible for production of melanin (pigment that gives your skin its natural color). Excessive production of melanin is responsible for discolorations and dark patches or age spots. When production of melanin is inhibited the result is radiant complexion and brighter skin.
5. Exfoliation
It was already mentioned lactic acid is a wonderful exfoliant. It is the natural alpha hydroxy acid which is useful for removing dead skin cells. When dead skin cells build up, they clog your pores thus contributing to inflammation and acne. What makes yogurt mask perfect exfoliant is gentle nature of lactic acid. It doesn’t irritate your skin like many exfoliants on the market and it stimulates cells to renew faster.
6. No dark circles
Do you have dark circles or under-eye bags? Then you can benefit from yogurt face mask. Here we also witness wonderful benefits of zinc as it lightens blemishes, cars, dark circles, and brightens up the skin tone. Use yogurt face mask regularly to get rid of dark circles and under-eye bags.
7. Youthful skin
Yogurt is rich in antioxidants and lactic acid which helps to smooth rough, dry skin and prevent signs of premature aging such as wrinkles and fine lines. Components found in yogurt fight free radicals and prevent sun-induced damage to the skin such as impaired collagen production.
8. No infections and sunburns
Yogurt also has antifungal properties thus posing as an excellent way to fight fungal infections. For this purpose, you should apply yogurt face mask about 4 to 5 times a day until infection disappears.
Furthermore, yogurt is a great way to soothe sunburns as well. It alleviates itching and burning sensation and prevents UV-induced production of melanin. Since the summer is just around the corner, yogurt mask is your best ally in fighting sunburns on your face.
To get all these amazing skin benefits from yogurt face mask, you can apply yogurt on its own or you can combine it with other ingredients like honey, oats etc.

Yogurt mask is well-known for its anti-aging, moisturizing, acne-fighting properties and many others. Apply the mask regularly, in circular motions, and rinse off in about 15 minutes with lukewarm water.
