I feel like I haven't had a haul for a really long time.  I've been buying all sorts of things this month, mostly beauty tools for hair and makeup that I will be using for my freelance gigs.  This is totally random and I bought these stuff from several shops both online and from malls.

 

I'm not one whose usually bothered by my arm or leg hair, so I've never tried shaving it off.  I've read about this product from a couple of blogs last year, so it got me curious if the stuff really does work.  So, I started stopping by HBC branches here in Cebu just to look for the Body Recipe Hair Remover Cream. Unfortunately, it is always out of stock. So that would probably mean it's a good product, is it?

* inexpensive
* painless especially for my first time removing leg hair
* convenient and handy
* very easy to use, you just have to apply, wait, & wash
* it comes with a spatula, so you won't have messy hands
* leaves my skin soft and smooth after use
* product of the Philippines and it's made with natural ingredients


* only 50g a tube, though it's only Php105 pesos (a little over $2.00) so it's still doable
* hair grows back after a week
* has a weird scent but definitely tolerable

For my first time removing leg hair, this is definitely a very pleasant experience.  I've never tried waxing though simply because I'm scared as to how painful it can be. LOL!

If you are looking for an easy, quick and painless way to remove body hair, this product is definitely for you.  I also love the fact that the company placed the manufacturing and expiration date on the tube.

Out of all the lipsticks I tried, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick line has been my top choice especially their creme finished lipsticks.  I've been buying lipsticks from other brands but I still keep coming back to Revlon Super Lustrous because of their price and quality.

My hair tools finally arrived. A few months ago, I asked my boss to buy me these two Conair hair tools at Walmart.  He went back home to New York after 4 long years of staying here in the Philippines.  I knew he was coming back last June, so I emailed him a couple of links for the tools and asked him to buy those for me. Fortunately, he agreed. I paid him for the items and shipping. ^_^

I got these two on my hands last June 28, 2012 and already tried using it for a couple of times.  They are awesome for personal use!


If you don't know what hot rollers are, these are rollers used for setting hair that gives off soft curls.  These are just heated rollers.  If you know how to use hair rollers or hair curlers, using this will be easy.  You have no idea how hard it is to find hot rollers/ hair setters here locally.

I tried scouring through malls even online shops but they are nowhere to be found.  I did find one online but the price was just crazy high.  You can buy this Conair HS34R Compact Hairsetter in the US or you can always try Amazon.com.
Before choosing these two Conair tools, I did check if they where dual voltage. So that, I won't have to buy any sort of plug adapters when I use them.  That was one of the things I had to consider before buying these. Another thing I had to consider is the price, these are so affordable yet very good quality.  I also read some of the reviews of these products from the Walmart website and both have 4 stars rating. ^_^

Some of you might be wondering what are differences between, lip balms, lip butters, and lip conditioners.  I was asking that very same question myself for a while now and so I did a little bit of research.

The word "Balm" by definition is a soothing, healing, and comforting agent.  A Lip Balm is a medicated wax-like substance applied to the lips in order to relieve dry or chapped lips.

Lip Butters are similar to lip balms in terms of packaging but is made with softer consistency. It is not medicated.  Ingredients wise, lip butters have much more butter or oil ratio which makes it even more moisturizing and long lasting. However, it feels a bit heavier than regular lip balms do.

A Lip Conditioner or Lip gloss has more oil content and thus give that high shine.  Usually lip glosses don't stay long on lips as compared to lip balms because of more oil in them. However, you can get the benefits of a lip balm and a lip butter together with a hint of color and shine in a gloss.

After months and months of waiting. The MAC Cosmetics "Hey Sailor" Collection finally arrived here in Cebu City, Philippines.  The Event was held last June 30, 2012. So, I apologize for this delayed post. ^_^



Most of the products were actually sold within just a few minutes after they started selling. This was supposed to be half empty, but I asked one of the MAC Makeup artist to fill it up with their samples again so that I could take pictures of the collection. (the price for being extremely late ^_^)

Ever since I learned how to use false eyelashes I've been hooked into buying all sorts of falsies.  I don't use them regularly but I set them aside for my clients.  It's fun to try out different types of false eyelashes, since this is the only way I get to test and know which lashes work best for clients.

I love these two false eyelashes from The Face Shop especially the one the left.  I just like how my lashes look so full with just a flick on the sides with the XLH variant.  Even though these are synthetic, I like how thin the band is.  In addition to that, I like the Face Shop lash adhesive that comes with each pair.  I originally wanted to purchase the full size lash glue/adhesive from the Face Shop, but it's always out of stock.  Thus, I keep repurchasing their eyelashes since it comes with a glue which is the same quality as the full sized one. This retails for only Php 115.00 pesos.


I was literally all smiles when I saw this pair of lashes. It's the first pair I bought that came with a set of lower lashes.  I've never used false lower eyelashes before since they are really hard to find. So, I'm really excited to try this.  I bought this at Fooda Super Market here in Cebu, I'm not sure where else to find this. It retails for only Php 40.00 pesos.

I'm not sure if you ladies remembered, but a few years ago around 2008 the Brush Guard was released. It was such a craze on youtube that almost all beauty gurus had them.  A few months ago while I as looking for disposable mascara wands, I accidentally found this cosmetic brush guard from a Hong Kong based seller on ebay.ph as I was perusing through different beauty tools.


While the original Brush Guard costs about $5.00 per pack which contains only 5 to 8 pieces of brush covers, this cost only $1.00 at ebay and it has free shipping. There's a catch though, since it is from Hong Kong, it takes a long time for it to arrive. I got mine after 60 days of waiting.


What I like about this is that, it's a continues roll of 1 meter plastic mesh which you can cut to whatever size you want.  Thus, you can make about 10 to12 brush guard strips for only a dollar (about 43 pesos).  This has a medium size width, so it can fit most of my makeup brushes.




As you can see in the photos above I cut the mesh to different sizes depending on the size of brush. I hope this would give our local online entrepreneurs an idea to also sell this on their shop, so that we won't have to wait 2 months for this to arrive. ^_^
