I have been recently playing with some of my Catrice makeup and I just fell in love with their Defining Blush in Love and Peach.

I haven't bought any makeup related items recently but I just had to pick some hair products since I feel like my hair is all frizzed up. hehe

Cebu Beauty Bloggers recently got together for the BYS Cosmetics Makeup 101 Event held at Maya Mexican Restaurant. It was an event full of fun, makeup, and super yummy foodies. ^_^


BYS Cosmetics is the brainchild of leading Australian fashion accessories company, GFA. Season after season, GFA creates the next big thing in fashion accessories based on their interpretations of the latest trends and develops these collections for Australia’s large fashion brands. With years of experience in fashion, it was but natural for the company to spinoff an equally trendsetting and fashion forward makeup label. Thus, BYS was born in 2004.

Originally distributed in Australia only, BYS has expanded globally to the UK, France, Japan, and most recently, the Philippines. The brand complies with standards set by the US Food and Drug Administration, European Union and Japan, which has among the world’s strictest standards. As testament to its quality, Japan is one of the largest and fast-growing markets for BYS.


During the event, there was a makeup demo where we learned tips and tricks from their BYS Makeup Artist; like how to shape your brows the easy way with the use of white eyeliner and brow pencil. We also got to play with their products and had the chance to choose the type and shade of foundation we want to try.


We were provided with a loot bag full of products from BYS Cosmetics, so I am excited to play around with these. Will definitely post reviews and swatches soon.


We also got the chance to hang out with the lovely and bubbly Shen of Shen's Addiction. She was the speaker for BYS Cosmetics during the event.

I finally got my hands on some Catrice Cosmetics! During the past few months, my father-in-law was on vacation in Germany, Paris and Rome. But he stayed mostly in Bremen Germany for more than two months since his eldest son lives there.

Catrice Cosmetics is a drugstore makeup brand popular in Germany. I've read really good reviews about their makeup line so I didn't think twice about asking my in-law to buy me a few makeup goodies from their brand, and he really did Yay! Thank you!

I seldom wear liquid foundation but when I do, I prefer to use a face primer to make it last longer.  I am currently loving the Mary Kay Foundation Primer especially if paired with my Mary Kay TimeWise Liquid Foundation. I honestly think these two together are a match made in heaven. LOL

Some of you might know that I do know a thing or two about hairstyling. I am not an expert on the subject but I did teach myself the basics of hairstyling since it comes in handy during makeup gigs.

This time I will be sharing with you how I prefer to style my own hair for special occasions or events.  I will be using my Conair Multi-size Hot Rollers which you can see HERE.

I find using Hot Rollers to be most convenient for personal use, because I can simply set my hair with rollers in about 20 minutes and just leave it while I do my makeup. Then just loosen them once done.

The first thing I do is to plug my Conair Hot Rollers to 220V and wait for it to heat for about 10-15 minutes.


One of the rollers has a red indicator light when not in use. It turns white when the rollers have been heated. Once the indicator light turns WHITE, that means all rollers have been heated and ready for use. I suggest you place the rollers on a non-plastic surface to prevent it from melting since the container for the hot rollers is hot.

You might want to sport this curly brazilian hair, which you can totally achieve with the help of hair extensions or hair weave.

I haven't been using gel eyeliners for a while now since, it is more convenient to just use a waterproof eyeliner pencil. I unexpectedly just found this Fanny Serrano Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in my Mom's vanity, when we went to visit my parents' house.

It's been a while since I explored another eyeshadow primer. I have been using my ELF Mineral Eye Primer (which I recently used up) and ELF Studio Eye Primer and Liner Sealer. You can read the full reviews of both e.l.f. eye primers HERE. It took me about two years to empty out my elf eye primers since I don't apply eyeshadow everyday. I use the elf studio eye primer for my clients and the elf mineral eye primer is for my personal use only.

I received a surprise loot bag from Charles of Wickermoss all the way from SG last year (2012) and the Essence Cosmetics I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base was one of the products she gave me.


Essence Cosmetics is a makeup brand that originated in Europe. I can say that the price and quality is comparable to elf cosmetics. The brand Essence Cosmetics recently became available here on our Philippine shores, though it hasn't reached Cebu City yet.
